Reading Makes the Time Pass by Faster

posted on 11 April 2013

Janice was reading a magazine as she was waiting for her appointment at the beauty salon. She made sure to always make a prior appointment as she had a busy schedule and did not like to wait for a long time. Her hair stylist was running late with the previous client and apologized to her for the same. Since Janice was not in any rush and this was the first time she was made to wait, she did not object. She ordered for some tea and read the magazine. She was reading about outsourcing call centre and its gaining popularity in the economy. She was so engrossed in the article that she did not realize that 20 minutes had passed and the hair dresser was ready for her. She kept the magazine aside once she finished reading the article and went to get a haircut. She was discussing with her hair stylist about a new look that would suit her. Her hair stylist came up with several suggestions in a matter of seconds. They agreed upon trying a new look which sounded the best amongst all the other suggestions.

The Day I Broke Up with Andrew

posted on 27 March 2013

After that long conversation with Donna, I knew that I had her support. It is a relief to know that even if I am breaking up with Andrew, who's her brother,we're still friends. After all, we were friends first before Andrew came into the picture. Donna knows that Andrew is still calling me now. I told her I did not want to talk to him anymore but she said that knowing Andrew, it was better for me to talk to him about my decision. For sure, he won't take it lightly but he would be more upset if I just avoid him every time he attempts to come near me. So I told Andrew to meet me up after classes. We went to this pizza parlor just across the school building. There, I told him about my decision. He was quiet at first. Then after a while, he bargained for another chance. But when he saw how firm I was, he was also man enough to accept and respect my decision. So now, it's really over between us.

There has to be something you can thank your government for

posted on 13 March 2013

Sometimes we have to thank our responsible governments for the effort that they put in order to ensure that we enjoy our stay in the countries that we live in. There may not be much that you get in your government but for the fact that you are still alive and living in a particular country, there has to be something that you can thank it for. Even as a family, you must have enjoyed some tax credit that not everyone enjoys today and so you can choose to show your corporation in working with the government as one sign of showing your gratitude to the success. There is more to learn than you would ever imagine in the government that you live under and so you have to have something that you can always be grateful for. Family Tax Benefit is only an example of those things that a family can thank the government for. This is because you are not given the credit because you are better than other families but because you have proven to deserve it. Thus, there is no course for alarm in just giving your government some form of appreciation for the success that you have gotten.

Tom and His Lucky Day to Choose the Report

posted on 13 February 2013

Tom was studying about the economy in the class. He was very interested in the topic recently since they were discussing about the kinds of economy and the sample markets. He was one of the students who had the chance to present something about a particular topic. When he was called to the front along with 5 other students, they were told to pick a small rolled sheet of paper. The paper contains topics of the reports. His friends were disappointed since they got the topic which they didnt really like to research about. Tom, on the other hand, was very happy about his topic. He will report about consumer rights beds. It was the topic which he hoped for since the beginning of the semester. If the classroom was compared to a social networking site, this was the hottest trending topic. One of his friends said, Wow Tom. You really are lucky. Out of the chosen five, you get to report the easiest topic of all. I really envy you. Tom just smiled to himself and started to make a plan for his report.

Where Would You Start a Telemarketing Service, at Home or Overseas?

posted on 17 December 2012

If you started business where would you start your telemarketing service, would you do it here at home or would you do it overseas in a call center? I know you get telemarketing services very reasonable by using contracts to call centers all over the world but then you have foreign people trying to get the American people the bath products here in America and none of them are working. My fianc was working for us in wireless as a telemarketer, she is in a foreign country trying to sell products to Americans from the Philippines. Telemarketing is another way of advertising and it is a cheap way of doing it but then why would you have people that knows nothing about the company except what they read on a card trying to sell you something they've never used? Another telemarketing is a lot cheaper when you do it from a foreign country that so many people now are getting tired of talking to people you can barely understand. Luckily my fianc speaks perfect English and she worked out great as a telemarketer because you would never understand that she was in a foreign country but how many do you talk to that you can't understand that great?

My First USB Stick and How it Saved My Life

posted on 9 August 2012

When I first got to college I had no idea what promotional usb flash drives were at all. I had a computer and printer in my room at home and, up until I arrived in my dorm room on a hot day in late August, had never even considered a situation where I would need to transfer my documents from one computer. However, as I settled into college I began to see that not having a reliable way to transport my documents with me so I could work on them all over campus was going to hinder my academic performance in a big way. I could email papers to myself but many of the computer labs on campus didn’t have Internet access at the time. When I mentioned the issue to my roommate she went with me to the student bookstore so that I could buy my very first USB stick. I chose a purple, glittery stick and paid for it. Little did I know at the time that this little USB stick would be a life savior through a major computer crash that would happen only two weeks from that day!

Make use of all the things life presents to you

posted on 9 July 2012

There is a friend of mine who is a single parent. She has gone through a rough time raising her two children ever since her husband deserted them. After trying to look for him in vain, she decided to do it all alone and give the children the best of life. She managed to get a grant for single parents and it helped her a lot. She started a small business that grew more with time and now she owns a multi-million company in the west coast. She was brilliant and used the little she had to get more. Her children are going to very good schools and acquiring the best education. I really admire her effort and I supported her throughout her endeavours. She is sometimes my inspiration and I get strength to carry on even when things are tough. You should also do the same and get the best for yourself and your children if you got any. Life is all about being smart at everything that you do and getting the best out of it.

It's Always Better to Avoid Debt Than Have to Seek Help for Your Debt

posted on 17 June 2012

We need money to buy personal and other things we need in our daily lives. There are debt advisors that can help you if you are in debt, but in my book it's better to avoid debt in the first place. How much do you spend in one day? Are you sure to save enough for your future? I have been into a lot of saving and spending plans since I started working. It seems easy for me to buy things when I have money. It is easy to spend it all day and then save since I know that I will have an upcoming salary to take up my expenses for the days to come. But problems started to arise when my contract ended. I came up to the point that I have to get serious in dealing with my credit. I decided to walk instead of paying transportation when I have to go to work every morning. Although there are times that I have to ride my way home, it is not bad since it is for my safety. When I want to buy personal things, I came up with a list of important things to buy, spend a little for myself when I wanted to indulge on my favorite food. Sometimes, you just can't ignore the call of cravings. I myself have a lot of cravings especially when it comes to food. To save money and eat right at the same time, I buy foods that I like when it is sale. I just make sure that they are not going to expire the next month since most products on sale are have expiry date for the next one to two months. When it comes to credits, I always keep in mind to pay them when I have enough money. That way, they will know that I am a good payer. I try to keep in mind how bad it feels to have a lot of credit, that way I will think of saving more than spending. Recycling is also one way of saving money. When you have vacant time, try to spend it by playing with your pet or sleeping. It is not really bad to sleep as long as you won't make it a habit especially when you are working. You can also spend time watching a film with your friends or family. That way your relationship with them will get stronger. I am not really that religious, but spending time on church with my special someone helps me save a lot of money. How? Praying helps me think and refresh my thoughts. Being silent for a moment gives me time to think about more important things. Not everyone can spend a lot and earn a lot of money in a day. But keeping in mind how you may need financial assistance in the future is one way to keep your pocket tight. We should always remember that saving is one way of helping ourselves be a better person. The thin line between success or failure of your business

posted on 17 June 2012

It is said that ignorance is not defense and that the customer is always right. The worst thing that can ever happen to a business is to be ignorant of the people that are crucial to its existence. Customer loyalty should be what every business strives for and in order to achieve that your customers should be your first priority. Several big corporations are no more because they failed one or the other in this aspect. What determines your success or failure as a business is how you deal with your consumer complaints. They can be to your business a source of innovation should you choose to follow up on them or they can be the cause of downfall for your business should you choose to ignore them. Genuine complaints can help your production team to know where it was that they went wrong or your packaging team to know where a mistake was in packaging. How swift you are in dealing with the complaints and your attitude towards the consumer who has lodged complaints are factors that determine how your business will do.

A Look at Offline Marketing Done Right

posted on 11 June 2012

All small business owners and larger companies need to have proper marketing strategies that appeal to the general public and then they need to further divide the strategies to target the public of choice. From advertising on billboards to using retail packaging like kraft bags, there are many ways to market your company. In this day and age it is easy to just put a sign up in the front of your business places but how many people actually walk pass your place of business on a daily basis. Generally to market a product or your business you need to think bigger than just outside the shop, you need to advertise via more modern or more applicable ways where you can reach a bigger crowd of people. Lets say you need to advertise a sports drink, it can be done easily on the tele screen at a big game where most sport fans or sports addicts themselves would be looking at the game, you need to find the way to appeal to a specific crowd or age range. A news paper advertisement maybe seen faster by an older more mature person than by a teenager. So in other words it depends on the product you want to market and the targeted persons you need to see this product advertised. Sales is all about the customers knowing a product exists. With my personal experience when you are exposed to something new and it is presented to you in an appealing way, most times you are intrigued and want to purchase the product or try the service offered.

The Target Logo Hits The Mark

posted on 18 May 2012

When it comes to corporate logos, one of my favorites for many years has been the Target logo design. One of the reasons I like this logo design so much is because it really attracts my attention. This includes the bright red color and also the eye catching bulls-eye design. Over the years, I have seen the logo evolve from a less eye catching design into its current creative format. One of my biggest complaints about some company logos has been that the majority don't actually reflect the company or represent the industry. From a marketing perspective (I work for a graphic design firm in Nottinghamshire), a logo should help brand a company's image and also make a lasting impression. In my opinion, the Target logo has been very successful in capturing and achieving both of these goals. Based on a recent survey of over five hundred consumers, the Target logo was listed in the top five ranking for its memorable design and creativity.

Offices Are Loads of Fun With Great People

posted on 10 May 2012

Working in an office can be fun, or it can be really boring. When I was first out of High School I remember getting really excited because I finally got a real job, in a real office. My job was to intake new clients paperwork and to file it. I love filing because I love being neat and tidy, so this was the perfect job for me. I supposed it helped that I had been on a prince 2 training course. I always had a chance to work with clients and other employees that really seemed to appreciate my job. Without me, the paperwork would not have gotten preserved for years to come. I also had a chance to meet some interesting people and even a few celebrities. At the end of the day, I felt extremely satisfied because I was able to make a difference in the lives of so many. We also went out as an office group and went bowling and out to eat on many different occasions, and this was always something I looked forward to.

Focus on Needs, Reject Superfluity

posted on 23 February 2012

It's tough for anyone to be financially ahead these days. That being said, I've always been great with money. I'm no debt management expert, but all you need is common sense to survive. I live a very simple lifestyle and am able to save very well. Housing is one of the most important things to save on. If you'd really like to save you're going to have to live with someone else. I pay only $130 a month for a 4 bedroom house with front and back yard and a garage. There are 5 of us living there so it's easy to save. If you'd really like to save money you need to be single. Relationships are money holes. There's no way around this. Food is important as well. I'm a pretty healthy person so I try my best to eat well, which can be very difficult on a limited budget. Obviously you must reject namebrands often. Stores like ALDI are great for saving. Also being healthy I always prefer to walk over driving. This saves great amounts. Finally, I've eliminated any costly hobbies. I never eat out, see movies, I have no television, no computer, etc. My sole hobbies are walking around and reading. Very cheap! I also sell my plasma twice a week for supplemental income!

Contact the helpline once you experience problems with your account

posted on 13 February 2012

Most of the transactions carried out online end up creating problems, this is because you are not sure of the documentation presented for you to fill online and chances of proving that it is not original are a bit low. A good example of an online service which has created huge problems for most users is the paypal account. There are those who chose to sell their property online using the paypal transactions in order to save money on the transport and communication it could have cost if the whole of these processes were carried out on ground. This has repeatedly created issues to deal with paypal chargeback accounts. It is now upon the paypal organizers to come up with a paypal chargeback helpline that will help those who end up facing problems after they have sold their property or done some transactions that do not appear to be genuine at all. This way you can be sure that everything will be in place once you have contacted the helpline because they will definitely carry out a follow up.

What Can Errors and Omission Insurance Do For You?

posted on 5 February 2012

Errors and omission insurance can be fondly called the insurance for insurance people. Sometimes in the course of selling, soliciting or servicing of insurance products, agents may tend to omit some of the clauses or information the client needs to know about. There are just too many details and very little time to explain every detail of what you are selling. Sometimes, the client is such in a rush that the important facts are unintentionally omitted. A slight omission however, may lead to a disastrous result especially when an unfortunate incident happens and the client has to file a claim. If the client discovers that his insurance policy does not cover his specific needs, he feels that he is cheated and will file a case against the agent. Errors and Omission Insurance will provide financial protection for the insurance agent when this event arises The costs for defense, damages and even in the settlement of the case is covered by this type of insurance.

To Advertise Without the Internet: A Consumer's Prespective

posted on 22 January 2012

I do not buy things by impulse, and I am usually careful about my purchases, but I am a consumer and some advertisements do indeed influence my purchases - from motorway advertising to flyers to posters, we do indeed take notice of ads around us. Having said tht, radio ads are, for me, the least noticeable kind of making publicity, because you have no visual content with the product or brand. Telesales, although having the visual component, are as unoticeable as the radio because people usually have a suspicious atitude towards the products they present. That leaves us with the newspaper and regular TV ads. Here I must declare a tie. The TV ads are very visually compelling and can have an imense impact in purchases (I can give the example of the Old Spice ads with Isaiah Mustafa, which through humor and very well crafted visuals have appealed to both men and women throughout the globe). Newspapers usually offer a different kind of ad, but that doesn't make them less effective, it simply makes them sell different products. Newspapers don't usually sell a toy, or a perfume, they sell jobs, business oportunities, used cars and furniture, etc, and they are by far the most effective method of advertising those products besides the internet, even when compared to TV.

How Viral Marketing Could Save Small Businesses

posted on 21 January 2012

Small businesses and large corporations alike have been spending a great amount of time focusing on the use of internet grassroots marketing and promotion. While this is important, there are viral techniques that could be used to launch the success of some smaller businesses that have been struggling in previous years. From roadside advertising to flyers, you can "go viral" offline too. There is more than one approach to yield results, and alternate options have gone by the wayside. Instead of using simple marketing tools such as Facebook to simply spread the word about a product or company, we can use these same internet based tools to create a ripple affect and have one site promote your product to others in order to multiply the information being received about your business. Also, it is important to remember that there is still more far beyond the internet that can be accomplished when it comes to marketing. The power of basic word of mouth is still highly underestimated.
